The Liu Institute has been host to several Centres in the past including the Human Security Centre, Simons Centre for Peace and Disarmament Research, Centre for International Relations, and Metropolis British Columbia.

We have transitioned the research, publications, and events of these Centres into the current research and activities of the Liu Institute in the areas of Security, Sustainability, and Social Justice.

We would like to acknowledge both the Centre for International Relations and the Simons Centre’s contributions to global peace and security research. We will continue the research and activity programs of both Centres within the Liu Institute’s new consolidated structure, including post-doctoral positions, student policy paper awards, student activities, conferences, and workshops.
